FAQs
Where are you based?
We are based in Perth. We do travel for Weddings down in the South West region and charge a travel fee for fuel, accommodation and hire car costs. This is purely to cover costs and not for profit. The fee is dependent on the venue and how long we need to be there for. We require at least 1 night depending on travel time, set up and pack down time allocation (often at midnight or early next morning for pack down depending on your venue).
Do you do other events besides weddings?
Yes for sure! Inquire here.
Do you have a minimum spend?
Yes. We have a minimum spend of $3000 for weddings and a minimum spend of $600 for our personal flowers package. This package requires you to pick up your order in our studio and only includes bouquets and buttonholes.
How much should I spend on flowers for my wedding?
We recommend setting aside about 15% of your total wedding budget for florals. If flowers are an important element of your wedding then set aside 25-30% of your total wedding budget.
What exactly is charged for labour cost?
Time spent quoting, researching, designing, consulting with growers/wholesalers, sourcing flowers, conditioning and processing flowers, creation of arrangements and additional staff if required before, during or after the event.
Can I pick up my own flowers and save on delivery and set up fees?
Pick up is only available for our Personal Flowers package. Depending on the arrangements, set up has to be done on site. We also value our work and want to ensure the quality and arrangements are being set up as planned in our design.
I really want a particular flower for my wedding.
We cannot promise or guarantee you that a particular variety of flower will be available. There are a lot of things that are not in our control, especially since we are working with mother nature. There are many factors that affect flower availability. From climate during harvest season, to freight issues, wholesaler supply, and seasonality of the flower.
Can I reuse my ceremony flowers for the reception?
It depends on the design. The best design options for reusing flowers are our ground and plinth designs. Flower towers can also be reused provided the reception is at the same venue as the ceremony.
We do not reuse arbour installations unless the entire structure is being moved. You can request for the hire company to do that or sometimes the venue is willing to do that. We can detach the design from the arbour and reattach it again once the structure is in place at the reception venue. We will not be responsible for the moving of the structure itself.
Can you send through a visual proposal before I make my deposit?
We hope you are inquiring with us because you love and trust our style of design. Hence, we only start going through visual styling and design in detail after you have booked us.
I want to use my own vases.
We can arrange that. Chat with us here
Do you offer wedding packages?
No, we do not offer wedding packages as we tailor each quote based on your personal desire for your special day.
However, yes in a sense that we offer a Personal Flowers package (bouquets and buttonholes only). This is a great option if you are doing a small, intimate wedding or an elopement wedding where you do not require any floral styling. With this package, you pick up your items at our home studio.
What happens to my flowers after the wedding?
You and your guest can take the flowers home to enjoy the memories a little longer after the special day. However, any vases, mechanics, water tubes and styling items cannot be taken. Additional fees will be charged if so.
Any flowers left at time of pack down will either be taken by us to dry and reuse or disposed into organic waste bins.
What makes you a sustainable florist designer?
We do not use any floral foam in our design. Each block of floral foam is equivalent to about 10 plastic bags and adds to the microplastic pollution problem*. We use mechanics that can be reused which helps us reduce waste that we create for each event. As much as we can, we try to source for local WA/Australia (interstate) grown flowers and work with flowers that are in season.

Will you work with other florist or friends/family who want to help?
When you hire us, we require that Chasing Laurels is the only supplier of flowers and florist designing for your event. We do not collaborate with family and friends as it can potentially add unnecessary stress and anxiety for both myself and you, leading up to the event.
Will my wedding photos be on your social media?
I sure hope so! We love getting links from brides with all their photography so we can create social media content and drool over your special day. if you are oppose to this please let us know before you sign our terms and conditions
